It's warming up on campus

Bradley Nowell said it best… “It's summer time, and the living's easy.”

Although this is true, I bet that a lot of you have been thinking, “What the hell am I doing in classes right now!” Oh I've been there, and trust me, I get it. There are probably a 1,000 other places you would rather be, but not to worry, we've got you covered. By the time you read this I will have hopefully spoken to each of you in your classes, along with my partner in crime Pat Maloney, FSU Entertainment Programmer and the dreamy drummer in The Hoolie Snatch, about the events we have planned throughout the summer.

Well first of all, to all returning students, welcome back. You were missed and we haven't forgotten about you. To those of you that have been going hard all winter long, well… hang in there. The FSU Summer calendar of events is out and is something you should definitely get familiar with and cherish throughout these next few warm months. And the theme, Campus Warming…An Inconvenient Semester is drawn from now pop culture icon Al Gore. No Man/Bear/Pigs here, this calendar is your guide to coping with the summer semester blues.

Road trips? We got ‘em. Sex Toy Bingo? Oh it's back. Toronto Blue Jays, Stratford “Music Man,” Cedar Point and Canada's Wonderland? Yup…cat's out of the bag.

Believe it or not, being in school for the summer has its advantages. With our calendar of events you get to reap the benefits of being in school to meet some seriously cool people. And let me tell you, that kind of stuff is MOST conducive to:

1) Meeting new “peeps” to hang with,
2) Spontaneous shenanigans,
3) Much needed study breaks between class (preferably at the Out Back Shack, open 10 am - 3 pm Monday — Thursday, and 10 am- 2 pm Friday…(just so you know) and of course,
4) Some hot summer romancing.

So to kick start this “inconvenient semester” I want everyone to hit up the FREE BBQ in Forwell Hall, Wednesday, May 14th at 11:30 AM. We'll all be there “with bells on,” as the wise John b. Young has been known to say, so come on out. Also, and I'm just putting this out there, for you fine folks in the Millwright program (or any other male dominated program the school has to offer), I've taken the liberty of extending the same invitations to the female-dominated demographics of the school, such as Dental, Pharmaceuticals, Fashion and Office Admin related programs ;) Just a heads-up.

Happy Summer.
