Around the Ring: Hardy to soar?

Two major things to cover this week: TNA's PPV that just took place and WWE'S upcoming (as of the time of writing this) PPV. Let's go!

Firstly, TNA provided a PPV that looked good on paper but just didn't deliver for the most part on TV. I was so excited to watch this one, but halfway through it, I was actually starting to fall asleep. There were so many run-ins, interferences and stupid endings or parts of the match that it made me shake my head wishing I was a writer for the company.

I have to say that while I do applaud Abyss and Mesias' effort in the Barbed Wire match, there weren't that many great spots. Yes, they both got drilled into boards that were covered in barbed wire, but because of many other matches that featured crazier spots from Abyss (and other wrestlers), I felt just a little under whelmed.

Props go out to Jay Lethal who was the star of the Hardcore Street Fight match and props also go out to Kurt Angle and Christian for running a stellar main event. The wrestling and spots were good, but having Tomko do a run-in to cost Christian the match was just stupid.

On the WWE side of things, Smackdown is still quite dry and too boring most of the time for my taste. While I'm glad that JBL is off the commentating job, Coach needs to sound more enthusiastic and have that counteractive vibe that The King has with JR.

Raw was a pretty solid show last week. Giving Hardy and HBK over 20 minutes for the main event match was a good choice. This match was practically PPV quality and it shows two things: 1) HBK isn't going to win the Chamber match and 2) WWE is still pushing Hardy and that may mean that the crowd favourite may win the Chamber match.

Speaking of the Elimination Chamber match, here are my picks for the No Way Out PPV:

Ric Flair vs. Mr. Kennedy - C'mon...we all know Flair will win this one!

Chavo vs. CM Punk - Beside me not caring who wins, I say it'll go to Punk.

Rey Mysterio vs. Edge - I see Edge walking into WM as champ.

Cena vs. Orton - I don't know how, but I have a feeling that Cena will get screwed by someone and set his match up for WM while Orton faces the Raw EC match winner.

Smackdown EC match - Taker wins this one.

Raw EC match - I'm marking out and going with Hardy. If Hardy main events WM and wins, it'll be one for the ages.
