Comedy and hockey will meet head to head on October 22, when comedy legends and hockey greats entertain thousands at the John Labatt Centre as part of the Canadian Comedy Awards and Festival.

Jokers Hockey ClubJokers Hockey Club is a mix of comedians, musicians and actors who take the game of hockey to a hilariously new, level. This year the team will be comprised of Tyler Stewart of the Barenaked Ladies, Scott Thompson from Kids in the Hall and actor/comedian Sean Cullen. Roumor has it that the team has also recruited Doug Gilmoure as their ringer.

Dale Hunter, Rick Doyle and Pat Boutette will be taking on the Jokers as members of the Knights Alumni team. Doors to the event open at 1pm and the puck drops at 2pm.

In preparation for the big hockey game, the Jokers will host the Jokers Hockey Rally on Friday, October 21 at London's Wolf Theatre, starting at 10:30pm. The night of comedy and music will feature Jay Malone, this year's front-runner for Best Male Stand Up, and will be hosted by comedy veteran Ted Bisaillion.

Tickets for the Rally are $20, which includes general admission to the hockey game on Saturday. The Jokers vs. Knights Alumni Charity Hockey Game tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the Biz Booth or by calling 1-866-455-2849. The net proceeds of both events will go toward Sunshine Dreams for Kids.

Sunshine Dreams for Kids is a charitable organization that makes dreams come true for children challenged by severe disabilities or life threatening illnesses. Since 1987, the organization has fulfilled over 5,700 dreams in Canada, such as funding specially adapted computers for children with disabilities and organizing a Disney cruise.
