Students take national award

Representatives from Vector Marketing stopped by Fanshawe's London campus on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 to present the College with a $1,000 donation and an award for Campus Cup Most Qualified Recruits.

Vector Marketing holds a campus contest three times a year with three categories in which students compete: total sales volume, highest average sales per student, and most qualified recruits. Fanshawe College students beat out students from schools all across Canada in order to be named Most Qualified Recruits nationally.

In order to qualify, students had to be in school full-time and sell a minimum of $300 during the campaign, which ran from September to December 2006.

“Direct sales have long been recognized as a proving ground for successful business people in all walks of life,” said Campus Relations Manager Aly White. “It requires hard work, self-discipline, a willingness to accept challenge and a high degree of personal responsibility. The Fanshawe students that District Manager Lindsay Allery has worked with over the last year have been these types of individuals.”

Fanshawe's award-winning students include David Nobrega, whose career sales are at $14,889; Miranda Kroesbergen with sales of $6,736 and Colin Robertson with career sales of $4,131. Those sales were made on top of full course loads for these high-achieving students.

“Vector Marketing has been a very consistent supporter of summer and part-time opportunity throughout the years,” said Fanshawe Career Consultant Carolyn Martin. “They do a lot of campus recruitment which really raises their profile within the school.”
