Fasting for a cause

Sometimes in life things just really fall into place. After a year of planning various large events for Fanshawe students I've gotten to know pretty quickly what it takes to make an event sink or swim. This time the event fell in my lap and within a short time I had a huge team backing me.

I'm talking about the 30 Hour Famine happening at Fanshawe March 30 and 31. The famine is going to be awesome this year. The keys to event planning are vision, knowledge and provision. Where do you want to go? How will you get there? and really; who and what will get you there?

So with a large planning team (15+ people) the 30 Hour Famine is destined to be one of the best volunteer events of the year. Will you have fun? How can you not? Here's a sneak peak at what we have on the go for you March 30 - 31.
- A photo scavenger hunt around London using London Transit.
- Dance Dance Revolution and other video game tourneys
- Acoustic jam session in a coffee house setting and karaoke
- Sports
- And much much more all packed into an all-nighter at Fanshawe...

30 Hour Famine is a charity event run by World Vision and the FSU. World Vision improves education and living quality for children and their families worldwide who eat clay cookies, bark fries and drink sewage water.

A street team will be approaching you with details and answering the questions you may have. If you want to come out then go the FSU office across from the Oasis, and upstairs SC2001 and get a pledge sheet from Laya. If you have any questions talk to any team planner or contact myself; J.P. We will start fasting Thursday March 29 at midnight. Everyone will meet at the Oasis Friday, 30 at 5:30 p.m. and break the fast Saturday, March 31 at 6 a.m. Is it really difficult to go 30 hours without food, no not really. You'll be enjoying yourself too much to realize you missed three meals and before you know it you have helped to save lives.
