SAC back to business after the break

Social events and sports were the major topics of conversation at SAC meeting number nine on Monday, March 5, 2007.

The meeting opened with the President's report as usual, followed by the Executive reports.

JP Renzella, VP Internal Affairs reported on the upcoming Thirty-Hour Famine. It will take place from March 30-31, 2007, and pledge forms are available at the reception desk of SC2001. Everyone is welcome to take part.

Some events that Pat Maloney, VP Entertainment, reported on include: Campus Idol, Rock and Roll Bowling and the upcoming performance by The Trews.

The Campus Idol qualifying round will take place on Monday, March 12 at 7 p.m. in Forwell Hall. There are over two hundred dollars in prizes and the winner will move on to the Campus Finals, which are being held on Tuesday, March 27 at 9 p.m. in the Out Back Shack. The Campus Idol winner will move on the Ontario finals, which are being held at Niagara College.

Rock and Roll Bowling is a free event for Fanshawe students, which is being held at the Huron Brunswick Bowl on Monday, March 12 from 9 p.m. -11 p.m. It only costs $5 for guests, so bring your friends out too and, most importantly, there is a bar available for those who are of age.

The Trews are coming to Fanshawe on March 13, 2007. Tickets are available at the Biz Booth, which are $8 for students and $12 for guests. The Hoolie Snatch will be the opening band.

According to Rubelyn Ubando, VP Athletics, the Mighty Falcon Dance Squad is now done for the year. They will be attending a dance competition on Friday, March 16, 2007 at Humber College.

Don't forget that you can let your SAC representative know about any issues that you are dealing with concerning classes, equipment etc. You can always talk to your class representatives, or contact your SAC reps via email.

There were no consent items brought up during Monday's meeting, because of the break, and very little new business was brought forward. The next meeting will be Monday, March 19, 2007.
