Former Athletic Director passes away

Les Zoltai, Athletic Director at the College from 1964 to 1985, passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital, in London on Monday, February 26.

Zoltai was the beloved husband of Yolanda Zoltai, the father of Judith Zoltai of Toronto, uncle to Aurora Pillich of London, and brother-in-law to Magda Repaszky of Budapest, Hungary.

Zoltai is also sadly missed by friends Teresa Szijjarto and Dr. and Mrs. Gyula Szonyi also of Budapest.

Visitation was held at the Westview Funeral Chapel on Thursday February from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Rev. Zoltai's body was laid to rest at the Interment, Woodland Cemetery.

The Fanshawe Athletic Department established The Les Zoltai Award in 1985 to commemorate the spirit and ideals of Zoltai.

The Les Zoltai Award is presented to a student who is actively involved with student life at the college and has made a significant contribution while participating in intercollegiate, intramural or campus recreation programs and Student Union activities. He/she must exhibit leadership, teamwork, excellence and character while demonstrating good academic standing.
