Anti-Valentine playlist
Well, it's that time of the year, the one day a year for all the happy couples who are in love show off too all the single people. It doesn't bother me being single on Valentine's Day, but for some it's a devastating day filled with loneliness and hurting reminders, for some it's just another day that passes by, and for others it's just a good day to sit in a dimly lit room and listen to a Dashboard Confessional CD.
One of my favourite movie scenes is in The Wedding Singer when Adam Sandler is singing a breakup song that he is working on to Drew Barrymore. Just the emotion and songwriting that went into that scene was not only hilarious, but also got the broken-hearted point across.
There are millions of songs about heartbreak, lost love, serendipitous encounters, and the one's who got away, not too mention all the sappy “I'm so in love” songs. There are songs that will remind you of a place and time, remind you of a moment of happiness, or a moment of sadness; this is where music becomes the soundtrack of your life.
