Pat on Pete's back
RE: Peter Wilura's columns Bites and Bytes, My Musical Ramblings and Pete's Links
Tell that Wilura guy that he's the best thing that's happened to this paper. His reviews are great and the different music that he gives exposure to sure as hell beats the mainstream stuff that shoved down our throats. Give that guy a pat on the back.

Supporting a worthy cause
RE: Fanshawe's Shinerama fundraising in September 2006
Every day, hundreds of Canadians in Ontario are fighting to live life to the fullest. And the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is there to help them win their fight.

The wide scope of CF research could not have been possible without the generosity of individuals and businesses in the city of London. Now we can see that our dreams could become reality in the not too distant future. Each and every one of you who participated in, helped with, or contributed to the Shinerama Campaign with the University of Western Ontario and Fanshawe College students, are giving hope to our children and all those people who suffer from cystic fibrosis.

Western raised approximately $95,000. Also the judges just selected them a National Shinerama Award Winner for Best Overall Campaign tied with Saskatoon Business College.

Fanshawe raised over $14,000. One Fanshawe student, Rubelyn Ubando, won the Mac's Milk volunteer bursary, chosen from all the participants across Canada.

I know that all CF parents, children and their families in London would join me in saying thank you to each of you. One day my phone will ring and I will hear the magic words: “We have a cure for CF.”

Thank you Shinerama Students! Thank you London!
Sincerely, Carol Cooper

Disappointed reader
RE: December 4 issue, “From Atheist to Pastafarian” by Leigh Cooney
I am sadly disappointed by the garbage the Interrobang has so far printed in the paper under Letters to the Editor. Whoever reads and decides what letters to the editor get accepted needs to get glasses or a reality check. Does anyone actually read what is submitted, or is everything and anything just thrown in? I think the paper should consist of more then some people's pathetic attempts to get attention.

Sure everyone has the right to their own opinions but that doesn't mean it should be advertised for all to read. There has to be limits. I have a right, as a student at Fanshawe, to not have this bullshit printed in what is supposed to be the students' paper.

An attack on religion or religious beliefs is infantile and shouldn't be tolerated by the students at Fanshawe College. By belittling or poking fun at others religious backgrounds or followings shows how petty and immature some people can be. These ridiculously childish letters to the editor should be banned from the paper, one writer in particular. This so called “Pastafarian” needs to grow up and get a life. The sad part is I can tell this writer has some intelligence; the question is why doesn't he put it to good use?

Please stop polluting the paper with this nonsense and write about things that matter.

“A person writing at night may put out the lamp, but the words he has written will remain. It is the same with the destiny we create for ourselves in this world.”
