Just because Halloween is over, doesn't mean you have to shelve the gory, fun-fill horror flicks. Here comes a double dose of horror fun with two new DVD releases!

Feast
If you love From Dusk Till Dawn by Quentin Tarantino, you'll probably LOVE this movie. It's all about a bunch of bar patrons who are suddenly attacked by a horde of monsters. If this doesn't sound like a fun plot, it really doesn't matter because there are so many little twists and turns in the film that keep you guessing about what will happen next of who is going to be the next victim of the monsters.

If you're a gore fan, you'll totally dig the special effects here. Limbs are severed, heads are cut off, acid is spit and flesh is melted! Throw in buckets and buckets of blood and you'll get the idea of how graphic the movie is. The one neat thing about the movie is that it is similar to Shaun of the Dead because of the dark humour involved. The movie knows that it's playing to the horror fan and is tongue in cheek.

The acting is actually well done for this type of movie and there aren't any cheesy bits whatsoever. Jason Mewes (Jay from the Kevin Smith movies) and Henry Rollins are also in this film making it even that more special.

Slither
I have to say that this movie was not what I expected at all. I thought was going to be a cross between the blob and one of those insect B-movies where all you see are people being chased by whatever little creatures are unleashed. Well, there is a little bit of that in this film, but there's so much more.

Like Feast above, this movie is also similar to the dark humour in Shaun of the Dead. There are so many clichés in the movie that they call themselves on and the gore and blood are so over the top that you just have to have a chuckle while yelling, “YES! THAT WAS SO AWESOME!” at the same time.

The story is all about a meteor that hits the ground and unleashes a sinister slug out on a little town. This slug has an interesting way of reproducing itself and bringing in more victims but I won't spoil it for you.

Go to the video store and get both of these for an awesome night. For those of you who prefer just buying your DVDs and you're a horror fan, you won't be disappointed with either release. These are must-haves for me and I'll be watching them over and over.
