The curtain rose, the music began, the joints were lit, and a sold out crowd in Toronto began to receive the epitome of what a good rock show is. For the next two hours or so, in the hot box that was the Air Canada Centre, eccentric Armenian rockers System Of A Down played an amazing set of just about half their catalogue. Despite dancing and flailing themselves across the stage like maniacs, the band played the songs so well they sounded hardly different from the way they appear on their actual releases. Due to the fact that I did not see one person in the crowd that was not into what was happening on stage, the band surely did live up to their latest album title…they had everyone “mesmerized”.
