As the playoffs are nearing, the London Knights are on a roll ready to play their hearts out.

The London Knights are in the perfect position for the post-season. They know where they'll finish, they know who they're playing and most importantly, they couldn't be hotter heading in.

After another winning weekend, the Knights have won six straight games and eight of their last 10.

They dispatched Guelph, Erie and Flint over the last week, scoring an impressive fifteen goals in that span.

On a rare Wednesday night home game, the Knights welcomed the Guelph Storm to Budweiser Gardens on March 7.

Even without the usual Friday night sell out, the Knights still gave their fans a show.

Down 2-1 with just over three minutes left, Evan Bouchard and Cole Tymkin stepped up in a big way.

Bouchard scored the tying goal on a powerplay, while Tymkin scored the eventual winner just 1:02 later. Of course, they both assisted on each other's goals.

Empty netters from Alex Formenton and Liam Foudy sealed the 5-2 win. The Knights rode that high into Friday night, March 9, when they hosted the lowly Erie Otters. This time, it was Richard Whittaker who was the hero.

The 2016 fourth rounder scored his first career OHL hat-trick, and picked up an assist to boot in a 6-3 win.

Sergey Popov, who was picked up in a trade with the Kingston Frontenacs, scored a goal and an assist of his own.

Joseph Raaymakers made 26 saves in the win.

Just 24 hours later, the Knights were in Flint for a date with the Firebirds on March 10 and it was another hat-trick that led them to victory.

This time it was Formenton, who scored three goals in 12 minutes en route to the natural hatty.

Rookie Connor McMichael scored the game winner in the third, while Bouchard picked up another assist.

With 84 points in 64 games, Bouchard moves to ninth in league scoring. He still remains first among all defencemen.

He will be a huge factor come playoff time for the Knights and could be seeing upward of 25 minutes a game in the post-season.

Even with the great success London has had over the past few weeks, Owen Sound remains no slouch.

They also keep winning and are just two points back of London for the fourth playoff spot.

This means it'll come down to the last week of the regular season to determine who will get home-ice advantage in round one.

This time next week, we'll know whether games one and two will be at Budweiser Gardens in London, or if it'll be Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre hosting the first two.

London just needs two wins in their last three games to ensure the home ice.

Judging by the way they're playing, it could happen.

The problem is, three playoff teams stand in their way, and two of them are the top teams in the Western Conference.

Yes, the Knights play the Sarnia Sting and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds before the regular season is done.

They welcome the Sting to Bud Gardens on Mar. 16, before playing Saginaw and Sault Ste. Marie in consecutive nights to round out the regular season.

For now, all Knights fans can do is wait, and hope, that London can keep the win streak going.
