Men's curling team awarded National Championships rings

After an impressive 2017 season, Fanshawe's men's curling team received their Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) National Championships rings on Nov. 21.

With an impressive 2017 season, Fanshawe's men's curling team came together to received their Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) National Championships rings, on Nov. 21.

According to a Fanshawe Athletics press release, the men, had a remarkable season last year winning silver at the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Provincial Championships and earned four OCAA All-Star awards.

While at the National Championships, the men won gold and had two players named OCAA AllStars. A CCAA Coach of the Year award was also brought home.

The men's National Championship team included Charlie Richard (Skip), Tyler Twining (Vice), Brady St. Louis (Second), Brandon Twining (Lead) and Eric Jones (Lead).

The team's coaching staff included head coach Barry Westman, assistant coach DJ Ronaldson and associate coach Shirley Westman.
