106.9 the X is not only bringing you the most popular beats, we're bringing you the hottest events and giveaways London has to offer. Soon to come are a handful of on-air games that will be played through out the day. Listen to the X and get involved for your chance to win!
As we get into the fall season, The X has been busy. Live on location at Huron Marketplace Cinema for the opening of the Trailer Park Boys movie, as well as co sponsoring the Pirates and Wenches Pub. A member of the X team interviewed J Rock himself before the movie premier and during our live on location we played some clips from the interview. We also gave away 20 movie passes during the week to some lucky listeners! The Pirates and Wenches pub was a success and there were plenty of hot costumes to be seen. Although Johnny Depp couldn't make it, the pub turned out to be a great night for everyone.
On the X this year we brought two new talk shows to the airwaves. College Confidential and Lets Talk, London. College Confidential is aired daily at 12:30 pm, and has a new topic everyday. Every topic is student focused and deals with the issues faced here in London. Let's Talk London is a live call in show aired at 4 pm every Sunday. This is where your input is needed, call in and give your opinion. Whether you agree or disagree you can get involved and ask questions. Just call (519) 453-2960 during the show, and let us know what you think in regards to the topic. Topics are advertised in the Interrobang on a weekly basis, so if you are interested in tuning in and want to know what we will be talking about, pick up a copy of the paper each week.
Our first big promotion of the year ended September 30th, which was the futon giveaway. With lots of entries with the most horrific bed and sleeping stories a winner was picked. We gave away a nice, comfy futon which was provided by 2001 Futon. Keep listening to the X for more wicked prizes to be won.
If you are a partygoer and like to win free swag, head on down to Jim Bob Ray's every Wednesday night when the X-street team goes Live to Air. Dj Chaos is always there spinning all of your favourite club tracks. Got 8a.m. class on Thursday? Then come check out our new Live to Air at ICE every Friday night along with DJ Everfresh and Dj Redd, or jam with DJ Sugar Ray and the rest of us at Club Phoenix Saturday nights.
