As the seasons change and warmer weather is around the corner, it’s time to experiment and change up your makeup routine. Spring is all about fresh new looks that are soft but still colourful and fun. Leave the dark and moody colours behind and brighten up your makeup with some of these gorgeous trends for this spring.

One of the most prominent trends on the runway was natural, glossy lips. Put your lipsticks aside for a bit and embrace your natural lip colour. Sometimes the best way to enhance your lips is by simply applying a lip gloss or lipglass on your bare lips. The high shine will boost your beautiful lip colour and will give a fuller appearance.

MAC’s Lipglass or Fusion’s Lip Fusion XXL are excellent products to achieve a glossy, plumped lip.

To compliment the bare lips and to brighten up your whole look, bright, blue shadow has made its comeback.

While it can be a daunting shade, there are many ways you can wear it to create a fun and playful look. A bright blue can be used as a base colour for a smoky eye, using a navy or black shade to contour and deepen the colour. The bright blue can also be worn alone with some black mascara for a cute, simple look.

For a softer eye makeup look, the “sunset eye” trend is perfect. This look is incredibly simple to apply. Choose a muted, pastel pink or peach colour and simply swipe it across the eyelids.

You can add a light coat of mascara for some definition, but don’t worry about adding any liners as this look is beautiful as is.

For a little bit more drama in your makeup look, add a hint of metallic gold as your accent colour. This can be done by adding some loose pigment to the inner parts of the eyes, the center of the lips or even to the cheekbones. The best products to use for this are loose pigments or cream products.

This season, change up your makeup routine by putting the moody shades aside and adding some freshness and fun.
