Funniest man on reality TV coming to Fanshawe

Josh Blue is a diverse and triumphant individual, hilarious stand up comic, talented artist (painter) and a member of the US Paralympics Soccer team — refusing to bow to the challenges that come with living with cerebral palsy.

Blue's comic career has sky-rocketed over the past few months as the winner of this summers NBC's “Last Comic Standing” reality show, an impressive feat defeating 1000 of the best comics in North America. Prior to these impressive performances on LCS, he won Bass Ale Next Comedy Competition, another $10,000 win at the Royal Flush Contest during the Vegas Comedy Festival, and has also been featured on Fox Sports News, Starz Comedy Channel, NBC, MSNBC with special guest appearances this September on both Ellen DeGeneres Show and Regis and Kelly.

Blue uses his sense of humour to make light of his disability. His undeniable wit and charm enable him to help people overcome their stereotypes about those with disabilities. His unique brand of “reverse teasing' affords him the great joy of humbling condescending people.

Fanshawe Student Union is proud to present his first Canadian appearance on Wednesday evening, November 1 in J Gym (3). Tickets for this performance are $10 for Fanshawe Students and $15 for guests. The FSU confirmed his show before Blue won the Last Comic Standing competition and his performance price has increased tremendously since, with the average ticket price to his American campus shows range from $20 — $40 at The Ohio State University, U. of Alabama, U. of Memphis, Texas State and U. of Maine.

The FSU was able to afford to bring Blue to campus by partnering with a local conference sponsored by TD Bank Financial Group, the London Chamber of Commerce and 3M. “Abilitity first” is a half-day seminar at the London Convention Center. Blue will perform a short 20 minute set for 250 London employers who will learn why hiring people with disabilities isn't just the right thing to do, it's also good for business.

That evening Blue will perform his full show and tickets are not reserved, so arrive early for your choice of seats.

The J Gym 3 has a capacity of 600 seats. The FSU has sent a ticket package to a number of local agencies to allow campus sales to guests with disabilities. We have also reserved a special space in the gym for these patrons.

This is a unique opportunity to experience a world class comic, whose star is rising and definitely the next time he will be in London the ticket price will begin at $25 or more, take a chance Fanshawe on a great night of laughs, Wednesday, November 1.
