Letter to the editor: ^URS texters

Submitted: September 7, 2006

So, back here at Fanshawe for a week and I've developed a new pet peeve!

People on cell phones.... oh, wait...I think I need to be more specific before I come off as a hypocritical user of one of these handy little devices. People on cell phones, in the stairwells who insist on texting or checking their texts/emails while walking down the stairs.

PEOPLE- On top of being dangerous because you're not looking where you're going, this is also incredibly annoying!

Focusing on where your fingers are going on that little keypad causes you to lose focus on how fast your feet are moving which IS NOT FAST ENOUGH! Be considerate. There are people behind you that are rushing to their next class on the other side of the building, or trying to squeeze in a Tim Horton's run for that much needed caffeine boost.

Now don't think I'm evil. Do I want you to instead hurry whilst doing your texting, trip down the stairs and hurt yourself so that I can get to where I need to go in a more expedited manner? Of course not. Just asking that maybe you wait to get to the bottom of the staircase before telling your friend you'll 'C them 2nite' Thankyou!
