Health Habit of the Week: Curbing on-campus cravings
Q. I am always hungry and
never know what to eat at school
— help!
A. There are a couple of reasons why you may feel hungry all the time; you may not be eating frequently enough, you may be eating sugary foods or you may be skipping out on healthy fats. Here are a few ways to improve your eating and make healthier choices:
- Eat foods low in sugar
- Eat small meals every two or two and a half hours
- Drink more water during the day and with meals
- Eat energy-dense foods such as protein, carbs, fruits and vegetables
- Stay away from sugary drinks and foods
- Choose healthy snacks like almonds, veggies, protein shakes, yogurt or boiled eggs
